Lata Mngshkar, Kishore Knudr, and Asha Bhosle have all benefited from the film industry’s music.

4. Indian musicians are exploring new paths by combining modern music genres with traditional ones, such as jazz, rock and electronic. The fusion of these styles led to a whole new generation of Indian musicians who were pushing the limits of Indian music. Indian Ocean, Raghu Dixit Project and Agam, for example, are well-known for their experimental and innovative approach to music. They incorporate diverse influences into a sound that is appealing to global audiences.

5. Indie music is gaining popularity in India with the advent of social media and digital platforms. Independent artists can showcase their talent to a larger audience and without having to be restricted by the mainstream music label. Online platforms have helped artists like Prateek, Ritviz and Naezy build their fan bases and create their own niches in the music business. Independent music festivals such as NH7 Weekender or Bacardi NH7 Overtime provide a stage for new artists to connect and perform.

The music of India reflects the rich culture and traditions that make up this country. Indian music, from classical to folk to film and fusion continues to grow and evolve, capturing audiences in India and abroad. Music has the ability to bring people together and create harmony.
